Speaking of stuff from Wednesdays, one of the things I added to Make A Face on Wednesday was a URL you can use to get the last face you posted:
http://make-a-face.org/face/<TypePad XID>/200wi
For example, my XID is 6p00d83451ce6b69e2
, so I can use http://make-a-face.org/face/6p00d83451ce6b69e2/200wi to get my last face:
One of the quickest ways to find your XID is to go your TypePad profile page and find your profile alias: that's the part in the URL after the slash. You may have set it or you may have had one picked for you. (For instance, my TypePad profile is at http://profile.typepad.com/markpasc, so my profile alias is markpasc
.) Once you have that, you can put it in this form to find out your XID.
Be careful with these URLs in the browser, as they are redirects. Once you load them, your browser's location bar will replace them with real typepad.com
URLs that go only to that particular face. If you use the make-a-face.org/face
URL, it will automatically point to new faces as you make them.
The 200wi
at the end is an image sizing spec that means a 200 pixel wide picture. Changing it lets you get a different size image. Some other good ones are 75si
, a 75×75 square, and pi
, the original 400×400 square. You can read more about image specs here, or in this handy chart.
